Why are you a “collaborative”?
“A functioning society rests on a web of mutuality, a willingness among all involved to share enough with one another to accomplish what no one person can do alone.”
Heather McGee, pg. 21, The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How we Can Prosper Together.
Life is best lived in mutual collaboration
At its core, therapy is a collaborative experience. Two or more individuals work together to achieve long and short term goals.
At Larkspur, we want to take collaboration one step further. We imagine a collective, collaborative space to make therapy more inclusive for all.
For now, our “collaborative” is mostly aspirational. Jancey is working to build her knowledge of the private practice space to slowly build up a cooperative, collaborative therapeutic community.
We imagine our collaborative could include: low to no cost supervision for under-represented clinicians, mutual aid classes on how to open a solo practice, sharing over head costs, space for social justice learning and growth, the list is limited only by imagination…
